Military pilots (mostly male) are held in the highest esteem in Israel, and for good reason. So few who apply are even selected for the Israeli Air Force’s prestigious training course. After that, there is no guarantee one will pass. Although women have had the right to enlist for over twenty years, the gender issue still continues to be a major topic for both the cadets and the course’s commanders. For the first time, the camera follows six young women–Sharon, Kim, Noa, Maya, Lior and Amit—for six intense and turbulent months, from their first day in the Flight Academy to the end of the check flights phase. Who will pass, and who will be asked to leave?
